The newest Lynx, Christi Thomas has posted a shout out to all the Minnesota Lynx fans on her blog.

Christi is Excited for Minnesota

The Lynx acquired veteran Christi Thomas from Los Angeles in exchange for Vanessa Hayden. Thomas is a five-year veteran post who has been playing with Lisa Leslie the last 4 years.

Thomas is looking forward to more playing time and an opportunity to grow as a player.

I am very excited to have a better opportunity to play. I think it’s important to find a place where you can fit in and be used to your strengths. I am excited to be able to grow as a player. When you have a little bit of freedom and breathing room, I think that allows you to discover other aspects and qualities of your game.

Seimone Augusts Shines Overseas

Augusts Leads Galatasaray to EuroCup Women Semi-Finals

Seimone Augusts lead her EuroLeague team Galatasaray to a win over Chevakata, 55-49 and will move on to the semi-finals of the EuroCup. Augusts put up 18 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists.

Semi-finals game takes place in Kursk, Russia on March 12 against Dynamo Kursk.

W: What are you doing for the upcoming holidays?

Seimone: I’m going home to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to spend Christmas with my family and friends.

W: What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever gotten?

Seimone: Back when I received my first bike from my parents.

W: What do you want for Christmas this year?

Seimone: I just want to be with my family and enjoy the holidays. I’m too old for gifts, but I guess they can just give me some money. Lol.

W: What’s your favorite holiday tradition?

Seimone: EATING. Food is a big deal for our family.

W: What’s your favorite holiday meal?

Seimone: I love red beans and rice, dressing, turkey, cornish hen, cranberry sauce, green beans, baked turkey wings with gravy and rice, mac and cheese… Man, I could go on but I’m going to stop there.

W: What are you doing for the upcoming holidays?

Lindsey: I am spending the holidays at home in Columbus, Ohio with my family. During Christmas I will be spending most of my time with my closest friend, my mother and, of course, my doggies.

W: What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever gotten?

Lindsey: I still believe that the best Christmas gift I ever received was my first bicycle.

W: What do you want for Christmas this year?

Lindsey: There is really nothing that I want for Christmas this year, but you can never go wrong with jewelry. ;)

W: What’s your favorite holiday tradition?

Lindsey: Decorating the Christmas tree.

W: What’s your favorite holiday meal?

Lindsey: Homemade mac ‘n cheese!!!!!

Minnesota Lynx Annouce 2009 Season Schedule

Lynx kick off 11th Season June 6th

2009, the 11th season for our Minnesota Lynx will kick off on June 6 against the Chicago Sky. The Lynx will play 34 regular season games, playing each Western Conference team 4 times and Eastern Conference teams twice each.

It’s going to be and exciting season with All-Star Seimone Augusts, and Candice Wiggins running the show. The Lynx also have the the 4th over all pick in this year’s WNBA draft which should get the new season off to a promising start.
